Mom and Dad

The lenticular image here shows the artist, Anna Dawson when she was a baby being held by her parents in separate moments. The folds of the paper force the viewer to move side to side in order to see the single image of each parent. Both gaze down at the baby lovingly. The lenticular effect allows for a moment with each parent, or a hybrid image of both. This piece relates to the heritage of the artist who is the product of her parents. The artist is interested in themes of being mixed race, and understanding of how her different cultures have come together through her life. With sculptural photography she explores how to express identity and childhood memory.
