As an artist who is fascinated by photography, design, and furniture, Anna Dawson creates work that blurs the line between product design and art. She finds that a functional object and an art piece are not so different: both foster cultural spaces and satisfy a user. An object can have a fluid existence between art and product. She applies this principle by deconstructing personal portraits and rebuilding photographs into paper objects. With her photographs, she currently creates lanterns inspired by Chinese American childhood craft and bowls in a laser cut lenticular form.

Anna is a San Francisco bay area native, and recently graduated from Whitman College with a BA in studio art. She currently resides in Seattle where she continues to practice her photography and art.
